I wanted to do a crock pot holiday ham with some nontraditional flavors. Well, let me rephrase that. Without the traditional SWEET crust and flavors.
Since I am always looking to provide something new and different that my family will love to have on the table, my mind automatically went to the flavors of the season. It also helped that I had some Ginger Ale in the cupboards.
Place the ham in with the biggest end down inside your crock pot. I used a 6 quart for mine, but had to improvise because the top of it stuck out to much for the lid to fit on properly (I’ll go over that info in just a sec).
Pour the Ginger Ale and entire can of pineapple over the top.
Place the lid on. In my case, the lid didn’t fit. So it was an easy fix. I placed 2 pieces of foil, overlapping, long ways and 2 pieces of foil, overlapping, the opposite direction and sealed it around the edges. Then I placed the lid on top and balanced it. Worked perfectly!
Cook on high for 3 – 4 hours or on low for 6 – 8 hours.
