Applesauce Pork Chops

When I find pork chops on sale, I buy them up and freeze them. I usually get the chops that have the bone in and are cut about 3/4 of an inch thick (keep that in mind if yours are a different thickness so you can adjust your cooking time).  These crock pot applesauce pork chops are easy to throw in before you head out the door to do your daily stuff to return to supper already cooked and waiting. You simply have to cook a quick side dish and you’re all done.
Here is how I do it:

  • 2 – 3 pounds of pork chops
  • 3 cups of  crock pot applesauce (or a 24 ounce jar, I use unsweetened)
  • 3/4 cup of brown sugar, light or dark (start with 1/2 cup if you’re using sweetened applesauce)
  • 1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon

In a 4 – 6 quart crock pot, place the pork chops in even layers. Pour the applesauce and brown sugar over top. Evenly sprinkly the cinnamon over the top. Cook on low for 5 – 6 hours or on high for 3 – 4 hours.
There’s no better combination than pork and apples. This is simple and delcious.
